Mt. Sinabung erupts again

Mount Sinabung erupted again on August 2, 2017. The eruption occurred since 8.09 morning followed by a pyroclastic. In addition, the eruption of Mount Sinabung is also followed by a series of pyroclastics (APG). Eruption also occurred several times since 9.36 morning with a column height about 2000-3000 m from the top of the peak, leaning to the south, followed by pyroclastic. As total 16 times APG happened until 11:10 pm.

Sinabung pyroclastics slope range from 2500-4500 to the East-South East, with duration about 251-707 seconds. Smoke column ranges from 1000-4200 meters from the top of the peak, leaning towards the south. People in the vicinity immediately evacuate to a safe place so as not to be affected by the eruption.

PVMBG recommends the citizen and tourists not to engage in activities within a 3 km radius of the peak, and within 7 km for the South - Southeast sector, within 6 km for the Southeast - East sector, and within 4 km for the North - East sector of Mount Sinabung.
