In order to set the framework of the Emergency Medical Team (EMT) in Indonesia, the Ministry of Health as Health Cluster Coordinator on disaster management is necessary to organize Framework Preparation Workshop of Emergency Medical Team in Indonesia. The purpose of this workshop is to produce a framework for Emergency Medical Team in Indonesia, which refers to the guidelines Emergency Medical Team which has been prepared by the Word Health Organization and based on the existing national systems.
Workshop has started on Thursday November 24 2016 and will resume on Friday 25 November 2016 at the Novotel Hotel, Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. On the first day of the workshop, some introduction has delivered as a framework for the participants in group discussions that will be held on the second day. Group discussion on the second day will focus on the theme of standardization of EMT, EMT registration, EMT classification and EMT national databases.
Invited participants are from the National Agency for Disaster Management, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National SAR Agency, the elements of health from TNI, representatives from units related work in the Ministry of Health, the AHA Center, representatives of organizations of the medical profession and health care, representatives of Non Governmental Organization national and international, universities, representatives of WHO and UNOCHA and from the Health Crisis Center.
Total participants invited is 61 people. The guest speaker at this event came from the National Disaster Management Agency, Directorate of Health Services Referral Center Human Resources Planning and Utilization of Health, Center for Health Crisis, the Indonesian Red Cross and WHO Indonesia. While discussants came from Gadjah Mada University, a team of WHO-CC experts and the WHO Indonesia.
